CXL-Based Hybrid SSDs
CXL-based hybrid SSDs offer a byte-addressable and synchronous CXL interface in addition to the traditional block-addressable and asynchronous DMA interface commonly found in commercial SSDs. I work on developing a custom FPGA-based hardware prototype as well as the accompanying systems software support.
Fast and Power-Efficient System Suspend
Traditional implementations of system suspend present a trade-off between energy efficiency and resume speed. By leveraging CXL-based hybrid SSDs in a firmware/OS co-design approach, I aim to develop a novel system suspend mode that enables zero power consumption in suspended state while also delivering fast resume times.
