Seminar Hot Topics in Modern Operating Systems

Content

This seminar is about contemporary developments in operating systems research. Participants will choose a topic from a selection of recent conference publications from a broad set of areas (e.g., storage, file systems, memory management, virtual systems, power management, ...). Students are then expected to give a presentation and write a report centered around their selected paper and the broader research scope around it.

An introductory session will be held at the beginning of the lecture period. In the middle of the lecture period, we will have approximately three  sessions for presentations. There will be no further scheduled group meetings other than these. The final report is due at the end of the semester period.

The seminar will be held in English, unless all participants are enrolled in German-speaking degree courses, in which case it will be held in German.
